As a participant in the Kick’n Chick’n Wing Fest, your restaurant will compete to for a variety of honors, including “The Thighsman,” which will be awarded to the restaurants with the best overall wings. Any of our prestigious honors will give you bragging rights for the next year, an impressive trophy, and a banner for your building to announce your award. Even if you’re restaurant doesn’t win, the event provides great exposure to thousands of people in the Birmingham metro area. It’s a fun and affordable way to get your name out there and let everyone know that YOU have the best wings in town. Plus you will be supporting a great cause too!
How does the Wing Fest work?
Each restaurant will participate in a chicken wing cook-off. Participants will be judged by several local celebrities and foodies, plus we will have an “Average Joe” judge which will be selected through a contest closer to time.
We estimate there will be 3,000 to 4,000 people at the Wing Fest, and we will let the participants know a more accurate estimate 2 weeks prior. Each person attending will receive 5 tickets each being good to redeem one wing at the restaurant of their choice. A person can only receive 1 wing at a time from a restaurant. Additional wing tickets will be available for purchase. Each restaurant will be asked to provide approximately 1,500 wings, which is subject to change based on estimated attendance and number of competing restaurants.
Each participant will cook their wings on-site the day of the event.
What if we don’t want to cook on site? No worries! You can make deliveries to the site and drop off your wings. We will have a place for your wings to be delivered, which will be close to your tent.
